개요:
타이틀과 마찬가지로 “0” 에서 시작하는 Audio Visual 입문입니다. Ableton Live를 사용하여 음악과 영상을 제어하는 방법을 소개합니다. 워크숍 전반의 영상 제어는 TouchDesigner를 사용하여 Audio Visual의 기초를 배웁니다. 중반부는 Ableton Live와 연동한 GLSL의 영상 효과를 설명합니다. 소리와 영상을 양방향으로 컨트롤할 수 있는 시스템으로, 영상에서 소리를 조작하는 등 표현의 가능성을 찾습니다.
기술은 중요하지않고 어렵지도 않습니다. 깊이 들어가면 무엇이든 어렵겠지만 이것은 “익숙해짐”의 영역이기 때문입니다. 이 워크샵에서 가장 중요한것은 생각하는 방법에 대해,그리고 기술에 의존하기전에 이 기술을 “어떻게” 표현할것인가에 대해 토론합니다.
A workshop to understand basic audiovisual concepts and how to think from both auditory and visual perspectives.
Overview:
As the title suggests, this is an introduction to Audio Visual starting from “0.” The workshop introduces how to control music and video using Ableton Live. Throughout the workshop, video control is done using TouchDesigner to learn the basics of Audio Visual. In the second half, GLSL video effects integrated with Ableton Live are explained. The focus is on creating a system where both sound and visuals are controlled interactively, exploring the possibilities of manipulating sound through video, among other expressions.
The technology is not important or difficult. While anything can become challenging when delved into deeply, this is in the realm of “familiarity.” The most important part of this workshop is to discuss the way of thinking, and how to express these techniques before relying on the technology itself.

이승규는 한국의 서울예술대학교와 일본의 큐슈대학에서 예술공학, 미디어아트를 공부하고 영국의 London Garnish Music Production School에서 Sound Design, Synthesis Course를 수료했습니다. 「Ableton」사의 공인 트레이너, 「Ableton Certified Trainer」로서 컴퓨터를 이용한 알고리즘 작곡,미디어아트 프로그래밍,전자음향을 가르치고 있습니다.
한국뿐만 아니라 일본,미국,독일,프랑스,덴마크,타이완 등에서 초청, GIGANOISE”,”Tokyo Festival of Modular”,”Asia Festival of Modular”,”Kansai Festival of Modular”,“모듈라서울,”위사 페스티벌”,”닷올림”,”Public Visuals” 등 다양한 미디어 아트 페스티벌에 출연하고 있습니다.
그는 아날로그 모듈라 신디사이저와 컴퓨터 프로그래밍을 통해 시청각 미디어에서 극단적인 소음과 추상적이고 기이한 메세지를 표현합니다.특히 19세기와 20세기의 사회적 배경을 통해 다양한 정치적,사회적 메세지를 비틀거나 조롱합니다.그가 표현하는 시청각 미디어에는 청중에게 있어서 다시는 잊어서는 안될 메세지가 포함되어있습니다.
현재는 한국과 일본, 두나라를 오가며 활발한 연구와 작품활동을 하고있습니다. 일본의 큐슈대학 공과대학 Darly Jamieson Lab.에서 소음,전자음향,공학과 현대미학을 연구하고있으며 한국의 부산예술대학교 미디어아트 테크놀로지과에서 전임교수로 재직하고 있습니다. 최근 “이승규 // 인터미디어 프로젝트 YI SEUNGGYU // Intermedia Project” 라는 어쿠스틱과 소음,전자음향,시각디자인이 융합된 새로운 즉흥미디어표현을 목표로 연구를 지속하고 있습니다.

Lee Seunggyu – Media Artist / Researcher / Professor / Ableton Certified Trainer
Lee Seunggyu studied art engineering and media art at Seoul Arts University in Korea and Kyushu University in Japan. He completed the Sound Design and Synthesis Course at London Garnish Music Production School in the UK. As an Ableton Certified Trainer, he teaches algorithmic composition using computers, media art programming, and electronic sound.
Lee Seunggyu has been invited to various media art festivals such as “GIGANOISE,” “Tokyo Festival of Modular,” “Asia Festival of Modular,” “Kansai Festival of Modular,” “Modular Seoul,” “WeSA Festival,” “Dotolim,” and “Public Visuals” in Korea, Japan, the U.S., Germany, France, Denmark, and Taiwan.
Through analog modular synthesizers and computer programming, he expresses extreme noise and abstract, bizarre messages in audiovisual media. His works often twist or mock political and social messages from the 19th and 20th centuries, delivering unforgettable messages to the audience.
Currently, he is actively researching and creating works between Korea and Japan. He conducts research on noise, electronic sound, engineering, and contemporary aesthetics at Kyushu University’s Darly Jamieson Lab in Japan and serves as a full-time professor in the Media Art Technology Department at Busan Arts University in Korea. Recently, he has been researching a new form of impromptu media expression combining acoustics, noise, electronic sound, and visual design through his “Yi Seunggyu // Intermedia Project.”
