WeSA UNDER LAB의 세번째 공모를 시작합니다. 젊은 예비예술인들을 대상으로 작품 창작부터 데뷔 공연까지 모든 과정을 함께합니다. 아트-테크 융합 기반의 사운드/오디오비주얼 아티스트를 꿈꾸는 예비예술인들에게 현실적이고 전문적인 멘토링과 최고 수준의 공연 경험을 지원합니다.

 

2023, 2024년 UNDER 무대를 통해 30명의 아티스트가 탄생했으며, 2025년에는 세번째 WeSA UNDER LAB 공모를 통해 더많은 젊은 예비예술인을 선발하고자 합니다. 아티스트뿐만 아니라 WeSA UNDER 2025를 함께 만들어갈 기획자도 선발하고 있으니 관심있는 젊은 예비예술인들의 많은 지원 바랍니다.

The third open call for WeSA UNDER LAB is now open. This program supports young emerging artists throughout the entire creative process—from production to debut performances. Designed for aspiring sound and audiovisual artists in the art-tech field, WeSA UNDER LAB provides practical and professional mentorship along with top-tier performance opportunities.

 

Through the 2023 and 2024 UNDER stages, 30 artists have debuted, and in 2025, WeSA aims to discover even more young talents through its third open call. In addition to artists, WeSA UNDER 2025 is also seeking planners to collaborate in shaping the event. We encourage passionate emerging artists and creative professionals to apply.

■ 모집 개요

  • 사업명: WeSA UNDER LAB 2025
  • 모집기간: 2025년 2월 10일 – 2025년 3월 21일 오후 6시
  • 모집인원 : 20인(팀 응모 또한 가능(단, 3인 이하로 구성))

 

■ 모집 대상

  • 데뷔하지 않은, 29세 이하의 예비예술인
    *예비예술인 : 만 29세 이하(1995.01.01. 이후 출생자) 예술인으로 예술대학(원)생과 그외 예술 관련 교육 훈련을 받는 동일 연령대를 포괄
    *팀으로 참여할 경우, 팀원 모두가 데뷔하지 않은 예비예술인이어야 함.
    *데뷔 기준: 공식적인 작품 발표 여부(학교 제외). 단, ‘사운드/오디오비주얼 아트’ 공연 이외 장르의 작품 발표 경험은 지원 가능.
    ex) 오디오비주얼 작업 설치 전시 -> 공연이 아니므로 지원 가능
    *2023, 2024 WeSA UNDER에 참여한 예비예술인은 지원 불가.
    *한국문화예술위원회 <예술대학의 예비예술인 현장연계지원> 사업의 일환으로 진행되는 타 사업과 중복 참여 불가

 

■ 모집 장르: Art-Tech 융합 예술퍼포먼스

  • 사운드 : 전자음악, 실험음악 등의 사운드 작품
  • 오디오비주얼 : 사운드와 비주얼이 결합된 형태의 작품
  • 작품은 최종적으로 공연할 수 있는 형태여야 합니다.(전시, 설치 작품은 지원 불가)
  • 팀으로 지원하는 경우 팀원 중 일부가 ‘그외(무용, 하드웨어 제작 등)’ 장르로 참가 가능합니다. 다만, 최종 작품은 사운드 혹은 오디오비주얼 장르의 형태로 공연되어야 합니다.

 

■ 모집 분야

  • 아티스트: 데뷔 작품 창작 및 공연
  • 기획자: WeSA UNDER 2025 공연 기획 및 운영

 

■ 응모 방법

 

■ 심사

  • 1차: 서류 및 작품 심사(선정자에게 개별 연락)
  • 2차: 프레젠테이션 (2025.04.10 예정, 정확한 일정은 개별 안내)
  • 최종 선정자 발표: 2024년 4월 셋째 주

 

■ 프로그램 (오프라인으로 진행)

  • 멘토링: 1:1 멘토링을 통해 데뷔 작품을 완성하고 업그레이드 (2회)
  • 작품 내부 시사: 데뷔 작품 실연을 통해 내부 시사와 멘토링 (2회)
  • 스터디 프로그램: 비주얼, 사운드 프로젝트별 자체 스터디 프로그램(2회)
  • 기획 회의: 페스티벌 기획 및 운영을 위한 전체 회의(3회)
  • 공연: <WeSA UNDER 2025> 9월 말 개최 예정

 

■ 세부 일정

  • 오리엔테이션: 4월
  • 1:1 멘토링 클래스: 6월 – 9월
  • 작품 내부 시사: 6월 – 9월
  • 스터디 프로그램: 5월 – 9월
  • 기획 회의: 5월 – 9월
  • 공연: 9월 말

 

■ 기타

  • 팀으로 지원할 경우, 구성원들은 모두 같은 분야로 이루어져 있어야 합니다. (“아티스트 + 기획자” 구성으로 지원 불가)
    소정의 활동비, 작품 창작/발표비가 지급될 예정이며, 자세한 내용은 오리엔테이션에서 공유됩니다.
  • WeSA UNDER 프로그램이 진행되는 동안 참여가 불성실할 경우, 최종 발표에 제한이 있을 수 있습니다.

■ Recruitment Overview

  • Program Name: WeSA UNDER LAB 2025
  • Application Period: February 10, 2025 – March 21, 2025, 6:00 PM
  • Number of Participants: 20 individuals (Team applications are allowed, but teams must consist of 3 or fewer members.)

 

■ Eligibility

  • Unpublished emerging artists under the age of 29
    Emerging Artist: Individuals born on or after January 1, 1995, including university (or graduate school) students and those undergoing similar artistic education/training.
  • If applying as a team, all members must be emerging artists who have not debuted.
  • Debut criteria:
    • Having officially released a work (excluding school projects).
    • However, experience in non-Sound/Audiovisual Art fields is acceptable.
      • Example: Installation exhibitions featuring audiovisual work are eligible, as they are not performances.
  • Artists who participated in WeSA UNDER 2023 or 2024 are not eligible to apply.
  • Cannot participate in both WeSA UNDER and other programs under the Arts Council Korea’s “Emerging Artist Field Support” initiative.

■ Eligible Genres: Art-Tech Fusion Performance

  • Sound: Works in electronic music, experimental music, and other sound-based art.
  • Audiovisual: Works that combine sound and visuals.
  • Final works must be performative (exhibitions and installations are not eligible).
  • If applying as a team, some members can be from other fields (e.g., dance, hardware development), but the final work must be a sound or audiovisual performance.

■ Application Fields

  • Artist: Creating and debuting an original performance.
  • Planner: Planning and managing WeSA UNDER 2025 performances.

■ How to Apply

■ Selection Process

  • Round 1: Document and portfolio review (Selected applicants will be contacted individually).
  • Round 2: Presentation (Scheduled for April 10, 2025, exact details to be announced individually).
  • Final Selection Announcement: Third week of April 2025.

■ Program (Offline Participation Required)

  • Mentorship: 1:1 sessions to develop and refine debut works (2 sessions).
  • Internal Showcase: Live performance previews for internal review and feedback (2 sessions).
  • Study Program: Project-based study sessions for visual and sound projects (2 sessions).
  • Planning Meetings: General meetings for festival planning and operations (3 sessions).
  • Performance: WeSA UNDER 2025 festival (Scheduled for late September 2025).

■ Additional Information

  • Teams must consist of members from the same field (“Artist + Planner” team applications are not allowed).
  • Participants will receive a stipend and financial support for project creation and performance (Details will be provided at orientation).
  • Participants who fail to actively engage in the program may be restricted from the final showcase.
